I Am the Mirror
As a mirror my purpose is to reflect what is…
I cannot distort the truth…
I only reflect what is… on the outside…
Unlike the camera which can sometimes capture
The spirit of the one on the inside….
That one who is always looking out…
I, in truth can only reflect back to you…
Yourself…
I am the mirror…
I am that mirror on your wall…
You look at me every day…
What do you see?
Do you ever see me?
No
You only see your own reflection…
It is true… as the mirror I can only reflect you…
I do not lie…
I do not embellish…
I do not flatter or fawn…
I reflect all that is… nothing more and nothing less…
No matter how beautiful a frame you put around me…
I can only give the reflection of the one who is in front of me…
I do not judge…
Or measure…
I do not hate or rate…
I do not beg or bargain…
I do not criticize or complain…
I do not blame or shame…
I do not get influenced…
I do not scream at ugliness…
I am not charmed by beauty…
I do not get angry…
I do not become sad or mad…
At what I see in front of me…
Nothing ever creates a ripple of disturbance within me…
For I am the mirror…
I am cool…
I am calm…
I am balanced…
I need nothing from you…
I am full… and I am complete…
I am everything without you…
You are nothing without me…
You can polish me…
You can make me shine and sparkle…
But I cannot polish you…
Nor change the shine that is within you…
Or put out that divine spark that is your light…
If I become broken…
Then from one I become many…
But I will still shine your reflection…
In my many fractured pieces…
In your vision I may appear cracked and damaged…
But… I will still only reflect you…
It’s Time… to check your reflection in the mirror of life. What is life reflecting back to you?
