Creating a New Meme of Love

It doesn’t take long to create a habit… 21 days they say!  And how many days have we been cocooned in our homes?  And some of us not only locked down, but locked out of our ‘normal’ places of residence.  So what new habits have we unconsciously created?  And are we happy with them?

‘Memes’ are subtle, they are transmitted as thoughts, ideas and beliefs which quietly slip into our daily living and culture, almost imperceptibly such that we now accept them as a ‘normal’ part of our life.  We have to check the nature of these ‘memes’, and see are they really good for us?  For example what is ‘normal’ about being afraid to hug our children, grandchildren and grandparents, or a friend?  For how long are we going to be afraid of a handshake, a kiss or patting someone on the back?  Is this how we want to live our life in the future?  We must resist this culture of fear.  So, it is time to wake up, because a future full of fear will not be a happy future to live in.

Let us have a reality check and take time out and really note the words we use and the attitudes we are creating.  Check those knee jerk reactions to the emotional triggers.  What do we feel inside when we hear the words… virus, social distancing, self-isolation, masks and China?  All these words have crept into our life secretly and are now conditioning our minds and hearts.  There was a lovely caption I saw yesterday which read: “Social distancing doesn’t apply to hearts!”  How true that is.

The other day we were walking and a lady was signalling with her arms for us to shoo… shoo… away from her.  Her attitude towards us was as if we were untouchables!  In order to protect oneself, one does not need to be rude and unkind, and there was no danger… except in this lady’s mind.  And by the way we were more than two metres away.  For some souls their minds have already been infected by fear.  When we are afraid to trust and to love then really we can see what sort of world we will be creating.  But do we want to live in such a world?

So, today I am requesting you to be radical in your thinking and consciously create new memes of love and kindness.  We say we are ‘creatures of habit’, so let these habits be healthy ones, loving, kind and positively uplifting.

As we go through this phase and as we engage with people, who have differing levels of understanding and information, let us not be too quick to judge.  The story is still unravelling.  The truth is still yet to reveal itself.  We cannot judge the movie until we see the end of the movie, in the same way let us not judge the people before the act is over.

Meme’s of love is a new kind of conditioning we need to cultivate in the soul.  One that makes the heart bigger to create a richer and happier life.  A meme of love keeps the mind open to new possibilities…  Really, when we come back to love, we are coming home to the truth of ourselves and who we are, loving beings.

patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.”

A new culture of tolerance and understanding is required right now, with governments, with the medical arena, with the police and security… etc.   And a new position with the self, one of tolerance and understanding… be patient with the situation, be patient with the self… stay in the love and stay in your power.

We are all currently at a moment of choice, where we are facing that fork in the road of life.  We can choose to go towards love, peace, joy, happiness and compassion.  Or we can live in that “brave new world” of fear, anxiety and suspicion.  Which one would you choose?

Each one of us has to make that choice, and on the basis of that choice so we will influence our future world for better or for worse.  Do we want to continue with the meme or fear, or do we want to live from the heart and create a meme of love?  Actually, love is what we all are.  Each soul at their purest essence is love, the question is how far have we moved from this truth?  As it says in the New Testament:

“Either make the tree good, and his fruit good;
or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit is
corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.”
Matthew 12:33

It’s Time… to create the reality and a world that we all want to live in.  We do not want to arrive in a future world and wonder how we got there!
