Becoming an Earth Angel
“An angel is someone with principles, who moves by the spirit, not the letter of the law. Angels see the motive not the move; they see the heart not the words.”
Dadi Janki
Certainly history tells us that there have been many accounts of people who have had an experience of angels in their life. But what exactly is an angel? We could say they are powerful light beings; without a physical form, although we can detect that they have a personality; they are messengers of God; they give support at the right time; and these beings emanate powerful feelings of love and acceptance.
What is the role of an angel? Angels appear at a time of need. They come and then they go without a trace, but they leave an imprint of love on our hearts as we are touched by their presence. Angels exist in the realm of miracles as God’s helpers, they are seen as protectors and guardians, and at the time of transition when the soul has to leave the body at the moment when death comes, the soul is comforted by the presence of these light beings.
“When angels visit us, we do not hear the rustle of wings, nor feel the feathery touch of the breast of a dove; but we know their presence by the love they create in our hearts.”
Mary Baker Eddy
Angels create hope and restore people’s faith, in their form of undistorted light as they emanate powerful vibrations both calming and peaceful. In fact angels are always depicted as spiritual light beings. There are many stories of angels in all faith scriptures, there is no definitive image but there have been many representations. When we try to interpret and translate our experience and feelings of angels into language, which in itself is most difficult, we convey a picture of a physical form with wings and a flowing white dress, and it is interesting to see that this experience does not seem to be limited to any particular culture or tradition. Angels are universal and represent love, as messengers of God they bring a message of hope and upliftment. As subtle spiritual light beings angels are beyond gender and are remembered as images of love.
So there is really nothing for the angels to do in heaven if all is cool there hanging out with God, they are kind of redundant. But they really come into their own at times of crisis, as they are special messengers of God. They come with messages of warning and direction, their words give comfort and reassurance, “Be not afraid.” Indeed angels are seen as God’s perfect creation.
There are many stories of these pure light beings manifesting in our hour of need, when we pray to God and the angels… then often some miracle occurs. Perhaps help suddenly appears as if they are sent to us, or we ourselves may feel and we might say we felt our life was guided by the hand of an angel.
Sometimes we can be an angel for others, by being there to lend a helping hand to another soul. You never know who might be an angel in disguise to offer that support. For sure we recognize these souls as angels at that time, in fact we even call them angels. “You are an angel.” It was because that person brought some relief in our life at the right time.
“All God’s angels come to us disguised.”
James Russell Lowell
In the simple case of a flat tyre on the road and someone stops to help us… well that’s an angel in action on the physical plane. But in many more subtle ways we are helped in our daily life by the forces of light, they manifest in our awareness as angels and light beings.
Of course according to our faith tradition they too will appear in a form that we can recognize, maybe with different names, but they are still angels. People from India may well call them the devis and the shaktis or in Greece goddesses.
There is much sorrow and suffering in our world today. How can we help especially when we are many miles away? We can indeed take time out to pray and meditate and send those souls light and love, that they get the help that they need and strength to cope with the current challenges facing them. Here you can become an Earth angel, by choosing to think higher vibrational thoughts and emanate light and consciously not add to the heaviness and the darkness.
Let us help to shine light all around and raise the vibrations, to awaken souls to their own love and lightness of being. Let us touch someone with our angel wings. Our journey in life is often one of happiness and sorrow, and in those times of sorrow we certainly want to find our way back with the light of awareness and understanding as soon as we can.
It’s Time… to emerge that angel spirit within and to spread the light!
